Marcus measures twice because old houses are almost never square. He builds cabinets that close softly, scribes trim to wavy plaster, and would rather remake a door than shim it into a lie.

Biography
His days are spent between the shop and the room. Shop work keeps the faces clean. Site work is where a filler, a scribe, or a patient plane makes a run of cabinets look inevitable. He walks a finished kitchen with the household and adjusts a door in front of them rather than promising to come back someday.
